Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make Me A Match

Find Love
“Would you hire a matchmaker to help you find love” was the question posed on Twitter.  The question was linked to an article in Marie Claire magazine titled, Why More Women Are Turning to the New Era of Matchmakers.  Apps like Tinder and others aren’t working.

A Date Is A Date
A study by Pew Research Center mentioned in the article says, a third of people on dating apps never meet anyone in person.  Here’s more from the article:

Matchmakers relieve some of the anxieties that dating apps create. For one thing, they make it clear that a date is a date. Nobody hires a matchmaker because he or she just wants a hookup; if you accept a date brokered by a matchmaker, you know that you are signing up for someone who at least wants the potential for a relationship. Matchmakers can also help smooth over misunderstandings that might otherwise lead people to “ghost,” or disappear on, each other. Dating is a numbers game, and clients are hiring matchmakers to increase their odds by increasing their number of possibilities.

Amazing Relationship
So, would I hire a matchmaker to help me find love? Absolutely not! I don’t have to. The best matchmaker in the world calls me his friend. He is the reason I am in an amazing relationship with an amazing man.  Over the years, we’ve had several conversations about the kind of man I’d like to meet.

We Talk Every Single Day
After a while, I stopped talking to him about it because I knew he heard me good and well the first time.  He didn’t need to be reminded. When he brought this amazing man into my life, it had been a while since the last time we talked about it even though we talk every single day.

He Gets It Right The First Time
He never makes a mistake and you don’t have to go out on tireless dates hoping he got it right. No, no…he gets it right the first time. There was an instant connection when his match called me for our first conversation. I felt something through the phone. What I felt on the phone was there in person and the rest is our story.  I would love nothing more than to introduce you to my matchmaker, the ultimate matchmaker…

Don’t Give Up
Apparently, rapper MC Lyte knows my matchmaker too. She shared a photo on Instagram recently introducing her love with the following caption, “What can I say, except thank you, Lord!! It’s been a long time, this single life, and I thank you all for your prayers and kind words of hope. God has sent me true love. For all of you waiting on LOVE- don’t give up – keep God first and he will see that you meet your match. #godisall. That’s her and her boo below.

Catch You A Catch
You can pay $35,000 for a matchmaker, that was the amount mentioned in the article or you can try mine at no cost.  I couldn’t think of a better matchmaker, I mean, he knit you together in your mothers’ womb, he knows your beginning from your end and he has an amazing plan for your life! Who better to make you a match, find you a find and catch you a catch?

Worth The Wait
Now let me tell you something about my matchmaker, you have to trust him and you have to wait on him. You see, my matchmaker wants to get you right and get you ready to receive the blessing he has for you. He wants the best for you, therefore, it may take a little while. Ten years is how long it took me however, it was completely worth the wait.

Change Your Life
In conclusion, let me say this; when my matchmaker finds you a match, his match will not only change your relationship status, his match will change your life!

Something to think about…

What say you? Would you hire a matchmaker to help you find love?

Congratulations on receiving your match from the One who knows you best! I found mine that way too. Met him 31 years ago as I was a freshman from University of Kentucky on spring break in Florida. Moved to date and then marry him. God made it clear to me he was the one for me. Has not always been easy but boy do I trust that God knew exactly what He was doing in choosing him for me. We enjoy each other more every day. Now my daughter has finally found hers and he was God sent just like mine:) Thanks for reminding us all that God has our best interest at heart and He is worth following and waiting for.

I didn’t know matchmakers were a thing at this point in the world!! Wow. So glad because I know your matchmaker, and can attest- He’s the best!! For a lot more than matchmaking, too : ) Thanks for this truth and insight!

@Bethany,

He certainly is the BEST for a lot more than matchmaking. Glad we both know him. Knowing him directs my steps to everyone else I need to know.

Hopefully, your daughter will listen. Gods’ timing is perfect in every area of our lives. We definitely want to wait on his timing in the most important decision of our lives.
