Rachel Lindsay Knows How To Date And You Should Follow Her Lead

by Yvonne Chase on June 28, 2017

The First Black Bachelorette
I like the way Rachel Lindsay dates. Every single woman should follow her lead. Who is Rachel? She, Rachel Lindsay, is the first Black Bachelorette.

Find The Love Of Her Life
The Bachelorette has been around for 2385 seasons (I’m being sarcastic) it’s been around a very long time and the powers that be finally decided a black woman is worthy to traipse around the world in stretch limos and have dates in luxurious locations like Oslo Norway to find the love of her life. Watch the video below and we’ll talk after…

No Second Guessing
Rachel is focused, and you should be too if you are dating to meet a husband. Let’s face it, most women are dating to meet someone they can marry. Rachel has the right approach. One of the things I like about Rachel is she trusts herself. She trusts her gut. She pays close attention to her dates and what’s happening on the date then she makes her decision and sticks with it. No second guessing.

Enjoy The Moment
Like I said in the video, it’s easy for Rachel to move on because she has a lot of help. The producers have screened the remaining guys for her and they’ve also planned great dates. I’m sure she has a stylist and makeup artist on board to help her put her best self forward. All she has to do is show up, be herself and enjoy the moment.

She Knows What She Wants
You know what, it would be nice to have someone find eligible bachelors and screen them for you at no cost right but guess what, you can do this if you are crystal clear like Rachel is about what you want. She was able to send Jack home in that moment because she knows what she wants. Rachel knew he didn’t have the “X” factor and she wasn’t going to keep him around to see if it appeared.

Say The Hard Goodbyes
On the latest episode, Rachel said goodbye to Josiah, the guy I mentioned in the video. He was a great catch; good looking, great career, wants the same things she wants and all of that, however, she found him to be cocky instead of confident. One of the things she said that I agree with 100% is this: “You have to say the hard goodbyes to get what you want.” Absolutely!

Get What You Want
Saying goodbye to Josiah was a hard goodbye because he is such a great guy but again, Rachel is focused on meeting a life partner/fiance/husband. She didn’t see Josiah in that role. Another woman probably would’ve kept him around but Rachel said the hard goodbye. She said no to what she doesn’t want and now she is free to say yes to what she does want. Are you willing to say the hard goodbyes to get what you want?

Something to think about…

What say you? What advice do you have for singles?

I am loving this season of The Bachelorette. It is my first time watching it. And yes, it is because there is finally a black chick. I watched one season of The Bachelor many years ago, so I had to remind myself of the rules. I think Rachel is representing sistahs well. I kinda cringed at the number of black men that she sent home. BUT, I couldn’t disagree with her reasons. She is looking for a husband–not a longtime boyfriend. I think she’s going to choose Bryan or Peter and both seem like great guys. She seems to have been feeling them since the beginning. Something occurred to me the other night while watching…we will probably be seeing the first interracial couple to come out of this franchise. And I will not be surprised if the next Bachelor is black. Thanks for sharing on #TrafficJamWeekend, Yvonne!

I have never watched the Bachelorette. Love your recap. Instead of watching, I can just tune in to get the update. LOL! Not single, but agree with all you said.
