Hang in There
What on earth is wrong with women today? Where’s the self-worth? Where’s the self-love? Why is having a man so important that some of you are willing to take anybody just to have somebody? Over the weekend, I had a conversation with a woman and she said something that I believe contributes to all of the foolishness I see in relationships today.   Here’s what she said…I’ve always bailed out of a relationship with a quickness instead of working/fighting for it so this time I’m trying to hang in there but not sure how long I should wait for him to get it together.

Put a Ring on It
Last night I watched Love & Hip-Hop and saw more of the same.  Kimbella’s baby daddy is in and out of jail yet she’s pregnant with his 3rd kid and her mother says; I wish Juelz would just put the ring on your finger already.  After two kids, its time.  Its way past time.  Whatever happened to marriage THEN a baby carriage? We don’t do that anymore?

Starting Over
Next up was Emily who’s been dating the rapper Fabolous for way too long.  She finally got the courage to move on from him after many infidelities and had a conversation with his assistant Winter that went like this; find a hobby while Fab is out doing what he’s going to do.  He’s gonna come around.  Those other girls mean nothing.  You just have to be patient.  You can’t just get up and leave.  You know who he is.  You done put up with it for 9 years.  You gon throw that away? To do what? Start all over again? Yes! Start all over again with someone who will respect you, not cheat on you and treat you the way you deserve to be treated.

Dose of Truth
Dear single lady, its time to lose the dumb girlfriend/s and get with someone who can hit you between the eyes with a strong dose of truth.  The Emily’s and Kimbella’s of the world have forgotten a key relationship fact, the person you choose to date is a direct reflection of how you feel about you.  When I shared this with the lady over the weekend, she said, OUCH! That’s crappy.  I must feel pretty crappy about myself but that’s about to change.

Kenny Rogers gave the best dating advice ever when he sang:

You’ve got to know when to hold ’em
Know when to fold ’em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run

Not Worth It
I understand wanting to hang in there and make something work however, when it cost you every drop of your self-esteem and self-worth, its not worth it. Emily, Kimbella, and the woman I talked to this weekend need to put on their Nike’s and RUN!

Something to think about…

P.S. the woman I talked to over the weekend sent me the following text…thank you for knocking some sense into me.  I feel good about my decision to put on my Nike’s and RUN!

P.P.S. If you can’t find anyone to hit you between the eyes with a strong dose of truth, pull up a chair and hang out at my website…that’s what I do here…with love of course.

What you put up with, you end up with!
