5 Verses That Cause Me To Thrive In My Single Life

by Yvonne Chase on October 26, 2017

No Easy Task
It was no easy task coming up with only five verses that cause me to thrive in my single life because the truth is, there are so many verses that cause me to thrive in life overall. This post came about because God put it on my heart to write it and then he gave me the title.

I Rely On Him
Before I started, I asked him to give me the verses he wants me to share. When he gave them to me, my mind was blown because they are the ones I would’ve chosen without his help. As I mention in the post, I rely on him to help me with everything from bringing things back to memory to writing blog posts and everything in between. Let’s get into the verses:

Matthew 6:25-27

When I tell you I don’t worry about my life, I mean it. As a single woman, the financial responsibility for my entire life rests solely on my shoulders. Every day I wake up and make it happen for me. A girlfriend and I were talking about this the other day. She’s in a similar boat with two children. As I look back over my life, I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt that God takes excellent care of me. He always gives me the best of the best in every area of my life. The bottom could fall out today and I wouldn’t worry because I know he’s got me.

Joshua 1:9

This is my season to be bold. I can go when he says go. I can take chances and risks knowing full well he is with me. “Step out and find out” is the resounding theme of my life. As I mentioned in this post, we’ve been a lot of places together and the journey is not over yet. Living this verse makes life an exciting adventure.

Philippians 4:11-13

We live in a world that treats single people like second class citizens. There’s always some kind of comparison going on between singles and couples/married people. If we’re not careful, discontentment can creep in. This is the life God gave me and this is the season he has me in at the moment. I can thrive in every area of my life and I can do all he’s called me to do with his strength.

Psalm 121:1-2

I don’t know about you but I literally ask God to help me with every major and minor detail of my life. Just the other day, I needed to remember a very important detail and I simply couldn’t until I stopped and asked God to help me. In no time flat, he brought it all back to me. He’s constantly helping me; opening doors, closing doors, rearranging my plans and redirecting my steps. When you have a moment, read the entire Psalm. It will bless your entire life.

Colossians 2:10

This verse is the major key to my entire life. Not only do I know who I am, I know WHOSE I am! I am complete in him. No man, marriage or relationship will ever complete me. Jerry Maguire lied. I come to the table as a complete woman.
Something to think about…

What say you? Before you go, tell me in the comments what verse/verses cause you to thrive in life.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.

Love Philippians 4:11-13! Those became my favorite verses when I was a single parent! Thanks for sharing at The Blogger’s Pit Stop! Roseann from http://www.thisautoimmunelife.com

I love all the verses you mentioned. I keep having to come back to Philippians 4:6&7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Thanks, Kathleen

Philippians 4:6 & 7 are good verses. They pretty much sum it all up. Don’t worry about anything, pray about everything…so good.

Great list of verses, Yvonne! Like you said, it’s so hard to pick just 5, but I love these! I pinned a few of them!

Blessings and smiles,

It was almost impossible to come up with only 5. The Bible is filled with so many verses that keep me going day today. The one Kathleen shared from Philippians 4:6 & 7 is excellent.

Thanks for pinning!
